Ozomatli rocked on friday. If you weren’t there, shame on you. It was one of the most amazing shows I’ve seen at the Orpheum, and definitely up there for one of the best shows I’ve seen in general as well.

The Steve Garro benefit on saturday was awesome as well. There were a ton of people who were there, it was great seeing everyone out to support Steve. He was there as well, which is awesome, becuase I heard he just had another surgery earlier this week as well. That guy is amazing. High spirits all around. There was a ton of money made on the incredible silent auction items, the raffle and the food. I think almost everyone who bought a raffle ticket won something as well. (I got a kona pint glass and a free pass to the climbing gym).

I also talked for a few minutes with Dara Marks-Marino that night. I gave her some advice on some website stuff a few weeks ago for a new site, and she let me know that she has now launched “her new site at www.daramarksmarino.com”:http://www.daramarksmarino.com You should check it out, her and Troy did a great job with it, and she is planning on putting a bunch of cool stuff up there, including articles, pictures, and a section to ask her questions about what it’s like being a pro mtn. bike racer.

Between those two events, and a couple nice short bike rides up here in flagstaff, everything was going pretty well this weekend. Until my roommate decided to move my car into the garage….. with my bike still on top. I never park in our garage, because the understanding is that my 2 roommates get room in the garage for their cars, and I get room for my 3 bikes, 3 unicycles, work bench, kayak and everything else. So, I got back from my ride and left the bike up on the car until I had eaten something and taken a shower. Well, I was up in my room, but apparently it’s too much work to walk up the stairs and ask me to move my car so she could get out, so she just took my spare key and moved it…. right into the garage…..

The bike is *mostly* alright, she caught the corner of the garage with the left grip and ripped it about halfway through and scraped up the bar, but nothing (on the bike) broke. The rack and the car are another story. The towers on the front bar of the rack are pretty busted up, and there are some really nice dents in the top of my car where the rack moved back about 4 inches, broke and dented the car in the process.

I gotta figure out how the heck I’m gonna fix this, because I’m not sure if the rack is gonna work anymore because the top of the door is a little bashed up and those dents are not going to be good for holding the rack in place. I guess I can put both racks on the back bars, but then I have to replace all my bike racks with long-trays, and on top of that, there is a good chance that the back gate won’t open when I put my box on the car…… What a pain in my ass….
