Mother Nature and I are in a battle of wits at this point. That’s what this all comes down to. About 3 weeks ago, it got cold, and we got a dusting of snow. It was gone in a day. No worries, I figured I would chill out for a bit, wax up the snowboard and the XC skis, clean up the damage which was done this summer, do a bit of unicycling, and wait for the big snow dump. Wednesday night, I decided to take matters into my own hands. If mother nature wasn’t going to give me winter, it was back to summer for me. I busted out the light, went for a night ride, and started riding the fixie to work again. I haven’t touched that bike more than riding to the occasional bar in more than a couple weeks. The ride to work went well, the ride home sucked. I got home to see that there was a “high winds advisory” and I had been riding head-on into it on the way home. I’d like to think that’s why I was breathing so hard, but it’s probably more of the fact that I haven’t really ridden much in the last few weeks.

Either way, I drew my line in the sand, and I’m gonna keep riding to work until we get a decent amount of snow, and I can put my season pass to good use. Until then, I’ll be one of the nuts out there freezing his ass off on a bike. Might as well do something instead of the just sitting on the couch.

On a side note, KRS-One sucks ass. We were at the concert last night until 12:45, and had suffered through two really, REALLY horrid hip-hop groups, and no KRS-One. They kept saying he was coming out, but even if he showed up right after we left, I was so pissed by that point, it wasn’t even worth staying (an how long was he really gonna play with last call at 1:45, an hour? Not worth my time and lack of sleep). I’m going to get my money back from the Orpheum so I can get tickets to Ozomatli instead….
