T-day Pics
I hope everyone had a good thanksgiving. As most of you know, I had my big turkey-day blowout last weekend.
Of course, the major reason was to get together with 40 of my closest flagstafrican friends, drink some beer, and eat ourselves sick. That mission was surely accomplished.
The (distant) secondary reason is so that I don’t feel bad about completely disregarding anything thanksgiving-related on the actual day in question.
Yet again, I decided to head out for a little road trip instead of tracking down some turkey. This year, I packed up there car with J-money, Claire, Dee and our biking and skiing gear and headed to moab. I’m sitting in a hotel in Durango (after stuffing myself full of beer and food from steamworks) and just downloaded a few pics off the camera and thought I might share before I set off to wolf creek tomorrow morning to get in the first northern hemisphere turns of the year.
First up is a couple pics that I forgot to post from the turkey fry. The first is of the awesome artwork that Dee did on my whiteboard for the turkey fry beer taps. A true artist if I’ve ever seen one.
We did a little hangover shred on sunday after the party as well, and I just had to post this pic of two of the biggest bad-asses to ride this earth on two wheels that I’ve ever met.
Can you believe that I’ve been riding in moab for over 5 years, and I’ve never been to Arches national park? We finally pulled the trigger and did a bit of hiking and sightseeing.
I also found some bad-ass shades which increased my creeper factor by almost 1000-fold.
We ended up cooking steak over the fire for thanksgiving dinner, and just in case you were worried that we didn’t embrace any of the turkey-day traditions, we also cooked up some sweet potatoes in foil (and lots of butter). The next morning was followed up with a huge bacon-burrito breakfast and a quick shred on the slickrock loop before heading off to durango.
We rolled into durango tonight mostly because the booze and food is better than Pagosa Spings, and the hotels are cheaper but still have hot tubs.
I will leave you with this picture to ponder, as you drift off to a leftover-induced slumber, and I dream about the first turns of the northern hemisphere ski season at wolf creek tomorrow.

Whoa! I didn’t know you moved into a trailer park (see creepy Beam photo). Have fun shreddin’ the gnar!
