It seems as though lately events have been conspiring to bring an old issue I used to blog about back into light.  That issue is the religious fanatics who brought the “theory” of “intelligent design”:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intelligent_design.

The first one to resurrect this issue is the one and only MJ.  Check out this “sweet shirt”:http://www.zazzle.com/cr/design/pt-shirt?dz=e76871fb-07eb-4b4e-bd12-12791da319ce&clone=true&pending=true&context=mfong&view=front&CMPN=EmailDesign he put together in his spare time. Just about has it all, doesn’t it?

Monkey? Check
Communist overtones? Check
Reference to cuban revolutionary? Check
HandlebarSandwich Stamp of Approval? Check

He also sent me a link to a “NOVA special”:http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/id/program.html that follows the whole Dover, PA three ring circus that erupted over intelligent design. I spent 2 hours last night watching it, and it was 2 hours well spent.

I saw in the paper this weekend that the “Flying Spaghetti Monster”:http://www.venganza.org/ has made a reappearance as well, and this time, he’s being discussed at “the american academy of religion”:http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5izIdAiH7TCkYQq8AvK6KbH480paAD8SUOUQG1.

Finally, rocky over at “the goat”:http://thegoat.backcountry.com/ even jumped into the fray with his post about how “dinosaurs fit on noah’s ark”:http://thegoat.backcountry.com/blog/2007/11/19/that%e2%80%99s-interesting-a-trip-to-the-creation-museum/.

I love it.
