Jerseys - Let it Fly
Spent some time tonight putting together one more idea for a jersey. I’ve decided that I like the last one and this new one more than the first two, so let fly and tell me what you think. They both have similar themes, but a bit different implementation.
Here’s the first one again, with the side-by-side front and back. Click through for a larger version. (also, I know the reds are a little off from the front to the back, that will be fixed if this is the final).

And, without further adieu, my latest creation.

Lemmie know what you think in the comments. I want to hear what you like, what you don’t, and what I should change.
Really, don’t hold back.

First one. I don’t dislike the second one in particularly. But the first one definitely strikes my fancy.

Hmmm…yeeaah…I’m going to go ahead and disagree with you there. The second one just tickles/touches me in ways I really shouldn’t post on the internet…

I’m with MJ. I like the second one better.
But Red and Black?! come on… that one is played out. we need some fresh colors.

rob – I got it, you think with all this recent election hubub that jersey wasn’t ‘merican enough for ya. Try this one on for size:

If I am wearing this jersey, how will others know that my other ride is their mom?

I like the first one but also think its missing a little something (see fifth comment). I like the gradients but still find the sleeves a little plain/boring. oh, and I like when the back of the neck says stuff sometimes.

raney – I agree, but I was trying to find a place to make it kinda subtle. although I think it’s awesome, it may not appeal to all. I was also thinking it could go across the ass of the shorts, that way if you don’t like it, you can wear some other shorts.
stuart – I actually toyed around with the little ascii art guy (like the t-shirt) on the back of the collar. whadya think?
Maybe another logo on the sleeves?

I’m going to also have to agree with Rhomas here also. Although the red and black does look pretty pimp, I wouldn’t mind seeing a few different color options.

While I like the second jersey, it reminds me too much of the Bontrager design/color scheme.
But I am also in a motel in Shamrock, Texas, sober, and therefore my judgment may be skewed.
I would say tinker with the second design a bit…it could be cool.

I would also like to point out that if you plan on designing shorts you may also need to create a kit for women considering the fact that D2 no longer has testicles…

MJ for the win on the testicles comment.
I like the america fuck yeah version. why not go with Easter pastel colors for a softer, friendlier look. oh the irony when you rip someone’s legs off in your next 100.

I’ve designed a few jerseys in my time. Lesson learned is to ALWAYS have the belly, ribs, and back all below your chest black or some seriously dark color. Keeps the belly looking flatter. So for the first one you could take the fade up higher, and make the cog more silver to offset it from the darkness.
