Just a quick one tonight, but I did get a couple event notices to pass along to everyone in case you’re interested. First up is a little cyclocross action from our friendly neighborhood man in brown

I’ll throw up more info about the other dates and times as I get it.
Also, John Bon (Jovi) Benson is apparently starting up his world famous spin classes again. This time they’re over at Synergy Fitness Here’s the relevant details from an email I got earlier today:
From: John Benson
Subject: JB teaching spinning again!Hey Everyone~
Hope you don’t mind the mass email but I wanted to let everyone know that I am going to be teaching a spin class again at Synergy Total Fitness starting in December on Wednesday nights. The class will have a cycling focus and work on pedaling technique, developing higher cadence, and conditioning. It won’t be a hight intensity for this first month but will definitely get you to sweat. Spinning will be about 1:15 min with 15 minutes of stretching and core strength at the end. Check out :http://web.mac.com/synergytotalfitness/Site/About_Synergy.html for more info on rates and other classes offered.
Start: Wed, December 3 @ 5:30pm and continue every Wednesday after…
Spread the word, we have room for 18 people each class!
Thanks!
John
I think I may have a couple punches left on a card over there from last winter, so I may see ya’ll there next wednesday December 3rd (apparently I have no idea what the date is). Sweating your brains out on a stationary fixed gear with 17 of your closest friends? What’s not to love?
Finally, I have to give some credit to Jon Bon Benson for the next addition to the jersey design portfolio as well. He stopped by friday while I was packing up for Moab to chat for a bit, and said something to the effect of: “I wanted to tell you in person that I think both of your designs so far suck. Everyone’s always trying too hard with their jerseys to capture a style. Retro, euro, etc. You have a cool logo, why don’t you do something with that?”.
Sometimes it takes a slap in the face to get the juices flowing.
I mean . . . . uh. . . that’s another story for another time.
Either way, here’s the latest idea, and this one even has a front and a back:

Whaddya think?
I’m still trying to work out one more design, and I still would like to figure out something to put on the sleeves of whatever ends up being the final, because they look a little bare right now. So, if you have any ideas, give me a shout.

Nice and simple, and I like the fade. Be sure to order some in Women’s size small, and do they make it in a Onesy also? McKenna’s ready to rock out in her 2-wheeler (trailer that is).

So you mentioned the jerseys not being too ridiculously expensive. What exactly does that mean and when can I get one of these^?

I am in concurrence with the Benson. Simple is good, plaid is bad. Or argyle. Or…whatever. I didn’t want to say anything, but I would never wear one of those jerseys you posted in the first post. I like the red one, though. I’d buy one.

I’ll be taking a little survey about what sizes everyone needs once I get the design finalized. I think McKenna is gonna need a few more years before she’ll be able to fit what canari has: canari kids
Colin – I’ll be putting in a bulk order once I get everything finalized, so I’ll probably just ask for who wants what here in a week or two. I’m thinking the jerseys will be around 50-60 apiece, depending on what style you want. A little bit of that will depend on what quantities I end up getting as well. I’m also probably going to do some shorts to match, and they’ll probably be about the same price as the jerseys. So around 100-120 for a set, 50-60 for just the jerseys. Not cheap, but not ridiculous (some places were quoting me upwards of 80 bux for a jersey).

dan – since when have you held back on telling me I suck? the east coast has made you soft.

Soft mentally AND physically? We shall see when Dan gets his butt back out here, as he says he will. =)
I am diggin’ the red one too. The designs keep getting better…the mere thought of what is yet to come could blow a person’s mind! Maybe black stripes on the sleeves to balance out the torso…or stripes of chainrings. It needs some sort of pattern on the sleeves to disguise the road rash it is sure to endure.
Woo.

Soft? No. Extra-padded for all the falls I take. Unfortunately, no extra padding on the nose, though.
I think I’m just out of practice as far as telling you how much you suck. Consider this my warm-up. I’ll be back in Flagtard by the end of the week to do it in person.
