I’ve got two brown ale’s in the fermenters right now. One of them is my first attempt at dry-hopping. I took a taste of it today (should be bottling in a few more days) and it’s awesome. Just about what I was going for. The second one just got brewed tonight, and I think I might try oak chipping this next one when I transfer it to the secondary fermenter in about a week.

Other than the brewing, this week has been trying to recover in a somewhat smart way from pines to the mines. I spent some time on Dan’s trainer on monday, just spinning for about an hour and a half, and then did a nice long, mellow day on the mountain bike on wednesday. My legs are definitely still feeling it, but I think after another decent ride tomorrow, I’ll be back in the game.

This is the first year I’ve ever had a subscription to bicycling, and it was only because I got suckered into a team performance membership. I can’t say that I have a lot of past history with the magazine, but it seems to be the year of the bike blog issues. . .

Fat Cyclist’s Pink Jersey made the cover of Bicycling a few months back (and got a write-up the next month).

And this month BSNYC got interviewed as well.

I just have to say, good on ya to those guys, enjoy the 15 minutes, it’s good to see somebody get into the club from outside the door.

As for Handlebar Sandwich?

Sorry, no deep seated sarcasm, no drunken ramblings, not even a decent cause to wave a flag about.

Just some dude with an obsession with his bike and the pain associated with it.

And a little too much spare time in between rides.

Don’t hold your breath on seeing me in Bicycling anytime soon.

Peace out.
