• Latest news: Ron King rode in the 08 and 09 NZ Singlespeed Champs (in fishnets in 08 and as the “Masked Marauder” this year). He also did the recent Whaka 100 in Rotorua on a singlespeed cyclocross bike.
He’ll be here for the Worlds in 12 months. However, before then he’s set himself a serious challenge: riding the length of New Zealand (2100 kilometres) as part of the Heart Foundation’s “Great Ride for Heart 2010″ – on a fixie!
Ron will be part of a team aiming “to boost awareness of heart disease prevention and help raise $1 million for the Heart Foundation’s Cardiovascular Research Fund.”
A great cause…
The RSSS has made a donation to help get the ball rolling and you can, too.
Read more about Ron’s big adventure (including a vivid description of what riding a fixie means) and make a donation on his page.
The ride won’t be coming through Rotovegas, but we hope to organize a support team for a leg early in February next year – we’ll keep you posted.

• Haere mai, welcome to all our friends from round the world – we look forward to seeing you in 12 months in our place – Rotorua, in the heartland of NZ’s North Island…

All I wanna know….. is who’s coming with me?
