Parties and Frozen Toes
New york was a good time. Got some mountain biking in, and some ridiculous-style partying in saturday night as well. It ended at 2:30 in the morning with me and Andy stealing a couple bikes and riding home through the ghetto known as troy. Enough said.
I got back here and rode today in final preparation for Pines-2-the-Mines. Apparently it got cold in flagstaff. Like highs in the low 50s, and down to the low 20s at night. I got home and promptly went striaght into a hot shower for 20 minutes to defrost. It’s gonna be a chilly start at 7am from pay-n-take this saturday. I just ordered some neoprene shoe covers from performance tonight, but they aren’t quite gonna make it in time. Guess I’ll just freeze until I hit the descent into sedona.
I also got my new cyclocross frame today. It’s a voodoo wazoo. Steel frame, sliding dropouts. Sweet. I’ve had some expensive car troubles lately, so I’m not sure how quickly I’m gonna be able to build it up, but hopefully it’ll be a nice little project.Who am I kidding? I should have the parts in during the next week or two.
The plan is to build it up as a cyclocross singlespeed. It’s gonna be fun. Even if I don’t do any races this year, maybe I’ll just take it out on the trails and tool around. I needed another bike, really….
In case you haven’t seen it yet, go check out Troy’s Site for his account of his north-south ride of arizona. It looks like it was pretty epic. Nice work guys.
