All my recent road biking has caught up to me. I’ve got a bad case of some saddle sores. I know most of you were itching to hear that, but that’s the way it is, so that’s the way I’m laying it out.

4-5 days a week before work on the road bike, plus riding to and from work, and almost every day after work is a lot of time in the saddle.

Needless to say, today was a much-needed day off. I didn’t even ride downtown tonight for some beers and food. Forced rest is a good thing. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow morning.

In the meantime, here’s some linkage for you to catch up with.

“Josh Kelly’s Blog”:http://www.joshkelleyracing.blogspot.com/ – I’ve ridden with Josh a fair number of times, and every time I end up seeing his backside fade into the distance. He’s one fast mo-fo, and is jumping on the blogging bandwagon.
“Mountain Hardwear Pack-a-Day Giveaway”:http://packaday.mountainhardwear.com/default.aspx – Need a new backpack, duffel bag, or messenger bag? Mountain Hardwear is giving away one backpack every day of August. You have to re-register every day, but you know immediately if you’ve won or not.
“South by Southwest Website”:http://sxsw.com/ Not exactly bike-related, although I did pick this up from “Bikehugger”:http://www.bikehugger.com. A super-cool festival in a very bike friendly town that focuses on music, independent movies, and interactive technology. I followed it last year, and if I can somehow get the time off and the cashitos together, I wouldn’t mind heading down this year.
“Cactus Cup 2008″:http://www.cactuscuplasvegas.com/site/ – Last year there were some bad-asses out for the cross race and the crit during interbike. This year, there’s a sweet little 3-day mountain bike race the weekend before. If only I had more vacation time, I’d love to see (or ride in) any of them, especially the fat-tire crit. mmmmm. . . .
“HandlebarSandwich”:http://www.hbsandwich.com – Linking to myself? Do I have no shame? No, I just registered www.hbsandwich.com, and it redirects you to this site. Just think, you can now save upwards of 7 keystrokes every time you visit the site. I’m saving you untold amounts of time and energy. Aren’t I a nice guy?
