Just Another Evening at the Ranch
Dangerous things happen around here when all of us are at home ‘taking the night off’ from either drinking or riding…...
I’m sitting at my computer, doing a bit of online shopping, when all of a sudden dan walks in from the garage with a crazed smile on his face. He was holding MJs old phone and said, matter-of-factly, “It’s time for this thing to die”. As you may have recalled, a few weeks ago, MJ got drunk and gently placed his phone in a glass of beer because he thought it would be funny. It was, for the rest of us, but he has been waiting to get a new phone for the last couple weeks so he can be in touch with the world again. He’s got the new phone, and Dan decided that the old one had outlived it’s welcome. So, we headed to the garage, did a quick search for the mini-sledgehammer, and decided it was more trouble than it was worth to find it. Claw hammer in hand, out to the driveway we headed. Dan took out some good aggressions on the phone first, successfully seperating the two halves, and then the battery from the back half. I went next, and took it to the camera lens and the main screen, and MJ finished off the battery and whatever was left of the phone. I feel that we are all better people because we took out our aggressions on MJs phone instead of somebody else. No, really, we are…. After cleaning up the phone pieces from the driveway, we went inside, did a bit of work on the bikes (new rotors, no more squeaking!), and cleaned up the shop a bit. While cleaning, I found an item I got some years ago right after I got my first car. We decided that MJ needed to ensure that the fate of his old bike did not become the fate of his sweet new ride (the “dream world”). So, I dug up the keys, and voila! a new ‘theft deterrent system’ for the pink tornado. I don’t know why people didn’t think of this before…..Yeah, so we get a little bored sometimes.
