Wowzers
What a week so far. I know it’s been rough, because instead of feeling like falling asleep at my desk at about 1 or 2 pm, it’s been happening at about 10am every morning.
I decided, for some reason, that this week I was going to start riding in the morning before work. I’ve been doing it on and off for the last month, but I usually end up at about once a week. I’m gonna try to at least go out for a spin on the road bike before work for the next couple weeks. It’s nice and quiet, no cars, no people, and no rain.
Oh yeah, and apparently “no sleep” goes on that list too, because I can’t seem to get to bed before midnight no matter when I get up. . . Oh well.
In addition to that little decision point, this week also happens to be the week I’m undertaking re-flooring a good part of my house. Tile and laminate flooring, all 550 sq feet of it. The manky carpet came out monday, the tile got cut and layed out last night, and tonight I set the tile and filled some cracks in the floor in preparation for the laminate. It’s getting there.
Alright, enough with the excuses. I finally got the GPX file for the first loop of the crazy 88 off my GPS. It’s posted on the Crazy 88 page. In addition to that file, there are 2 other GPS files now available. The first is a set of waypoints which mark all the major turns. So far, all of lap 1 is in there, and about the first 1/3 of lap 2 is also covered. I’ll finish up lap 2 and re-post at some point soon.
The final GPS file is from tRoy. Instead of explaining, here’s the email to which it was attached:
Hey Nate,
Fun riding yesterday! We did Snset,Brookbank and Pckle. Good times! Anyway it is only 9am Monday at work and I am dreaming of more monsoon soaked trails… so I pulled up some maps and made an attached waypoint file for water stops on your race course. Each waypoint has some description text.
Cheers, T
That’s right, your water stop options have just gotten larger. I’ll have them marked on the cue sheet with the descriptions for those of you who don’t have a GPS. Note that some require a filter, some don’t, so keep that in mind.
I went by AZ bikes today and talked with The Gnome for a few. I guess there’s some logging going on where Brycycle was gonna have the second HAT Trick race this weekend, so it’s been postponed. I’ll let you know when I find out more.
Finally, thanks to everyone who’s signed up for the Crazy 88 so far, the response has been awesome, and I’m happy to say we’re going to have a good crew out there.
