Well, I made it out and back from the east coast. I managed about 2-4 hours of sleep each night, and a general good time. I even made it through the weekend without getting too messed up at all the parties. That apparently ended monday night, when I ended up sleeping on the floor of my living room because I didn’t quite make it to bed. Detox today has been painful. Luckily I stopped and got 2 bacon, egg, and cheese biscuts from Mickey D’s on the way to work. Grease soaks up alcohol, or so I’ve heard. Sittin like a brick in my stomach, that’s for sure, but I guess it’s better than it coming back up.

In case anyone was wondering, the final tally for the worksite challenge for bike-to-work week here in flagstaff was 10,726 miles, with an average of 7.7 miles per person, which means almost 1400 people participated and logged in. The longest commute was 46 miles. Dang. Not bad for a town of 65,000. It’s about as bike-friendly as it gets.

I hate to say it, but beyond that, I have nothing to report on the biking front. My bike still has the whiskey off-road number plate on it, because I haven’t ridden the SS since then. For more biking news, you can check out rob’s coverage of the Giro his pictoral commentary is pretty funny. Apparently he’s getting a ‘real’ fixed gear as well. Dang.

Speaking of new bikes, I just got an email from Justin, who wanted to show me some pics of his new niner Check them out on the mtbr forum thread Gotta love that orange. (sorry, you have to register for the forums to view the pics, but they’re worth it, believe me)

Finally, since I haven’t posted anything concerning those bastards at the RIAA lately, I’ll just throw down a site I came across the other day. Check out the work they’re doing over at defectivebydesign.org It’s a site basically saying how retarded DRM schemes are, and they take action against companies promoting it in (mostly) nonviolent forms. Good stuff. Of course, all you had to do to find out that DRM schemes aren’t really all that great is by noting that the number 2 music download service on the internet doesn’t use them. Fools…...

That’s all I got for tonight. Keep the rubber side down.
