Recovery Trip
Leading up to my little stomach bug incident, I hadn’t really been feeling 100% on the bike. I was riding a lot, and I think it may have actually bordered on too much in that I was doing several hard days in a row, and not really recovering. The low end power that I rely on so desperately on the singlespeed just wasn’t there.
More than one person told me I need a bit of recovery.
Well, now is the time. I’m headed out to New Jersey to visit some relatives for a long weekend, and although it was tempting, I’m not bringing anything which will allow me to go biking. I’ve been putting in a lot of miles on the road with bike to work week this week, and this weekend I’m taking a little break. The focus is going to be on relaxing, seeing some relatives, seeing some old friends, and being ready for the “Coconino Dirty Century”:http://rockyroad5050.wordpress.com/2-coconino-dirty-century/ next weekend.
I would tell you to not look for any updates until tuesday, but the reality is that when I’m sitting on a couch or just hangin’ around, I usually find stuff to write about.
So lets just say: I wouldn’t expect too many bike-related updates.

so check it out, heres an update: mj and i bunny hopped the tandem. I’d say its on, but we broke our third coaster brake. also do you have any tips on good riding sun glasses? i dont really care about the sun, just shit in my eyes.

If you don’t care about the sun, Saran Wrap secured around your head is a great debris deterrent. So many uses….

Althought saran wrap is a great idea, I really liked my smith’s. Although if you just want to keep shit out of your eyes, any nice large cheap sunglasses will do.
If you watch Steep and Cheap, they’ve been having sunglasses every now and then on there for super-cheap, that’s where I got my natives (which aren’t my favs, but hey, the price was right).
