I sure it is more flexy than the Big Dummy. It still easily handles frequent loads of 50 -100 lbs. And thanks for the reminder. I need to do a check of the all the nuts and bolts. :) I noticed the kickstand is loosening up. I was going to go over everything this weekend. When I built it up I torqued everything down to the recommended torque values. To paraphrase the Xtracycle owner's manual, "If it's not installed properly, you could die and it's not the folks at Xtracycles fault".

Steve and Dara - Definitely seemed like cool folks at bikeman.com, I've gotten a couple other little hard-to-find items from them in the past, but it's been a while.

Doug - I do like the idea of the freeradical kit, and would definitely consider going that way also. Much cheaper, advantage of a recycled frame, and the option to take it off if you ever wanted to. I have, however, heard some people who have complained that the setup feels very flexy with any decent amount of weight (100+ lbs) on it, and you have to be very meticulous about tightening it up fairly often. Have you had that experience as well?

A Big Dummy isn't the only option if you want an Xtracycle. The Big Dummy happens to be the coolest option, but not the only one. Last year I took my 20 year old Specialized Rockhopper, stripped it down, had it powdercoated, bought a FreeRadical conversion kit from Xtracycle, ordered new components and built one of the coolest Xtracycles around. The best part is I recycled an old bike and gave it a new life. So don't think the Big Dummy is the only way to go.

I bought my Lake MXZ301 winter boots from Bikeman a few years ago. They had the lowest price of anyone.

Go Bikeman.

They are the ones who went in the basement and found a 2007 Kona Paddy Wagon to replace my destroyed one. Everyone else told me I would have to get a 2008 in this puky gray color.
