Got back from an awesome trip to moab this weekend. We rode the poison spider trail to the portal trail on saturday. If you ever get a chance, ride the portal trail. It’s 1000 foot downhill in about 3 miles, and it’s all on the edge of a cliff. There are certain points along the trail that say “dismount bike now, 3 riders have died here”, and it’ll be right before a gnarly little section with a 200-800 foot cliff on one side of the trail. Bad ass.

We also rode Amassa Back on saturday as well. It’s a cool trail also, technical 4.5-5 miles uphill, play on some slickrock at the top, and then bomb it back down.

Finally on sunday we rode porcupine rim. Started at the top, did the 4 mile climb, and the 11.5 mile descent. It was pretty awesome. Then we finished off the loop by doing the climb all the way back up. 34 miles total. Sweetness.

There’s some pics in the “gallery”:http://www.3dmobility.com/gallery/moab-april/ of the amassa back trail. I didn’t take the camera on the poison spider trail for fear of it breaking, and the batteries died on porcupine rim. Oh well.

You can look them up at “this site”:http://www.utahmountainbiking.com

I also wanted to give a shout out to my friend chris back in NY. Heard he seperated his shoulder on a gnarly little ride. Nice going chris.

Anyways, I’m out.
