I am pleased to announce the birth of a beautiful, healthy Gunnar Ruffian.

She was born over the course of 2 hours of labor at AZ Bikes, by Nathan Friedman and Dan Cavallari. The official time of birth was at 6:10 pm on Monday, April 17th. She weighs right around 23.5 lbs, and is in healthy condition.

Nathan Friedman and his wallet are the official parents, and have ensured that she will have the best coming into this world. This includes a set of chris king hubs, tubeless wheels (one tubeless, one stan’s converted tubeless), an Answer pro-taper carbon riser bar, a set of white industries ENO singlespeed cranks, an American Classic titanium seatpost, a new pair of Time ATAC XS pedals, a set of top notch tires from GEAX and WTB, and a manitou 100mm minute two fork.

Nathan was stopped by concerned citizens as he was leaving the shop after they overheard him reportedly saying “I’m the happiest parent alive, she’s so beautiful, I’m going to take her out in the woods and give her a proper spanking now.” However, fears subsided when they realized that after the abuse she was about to recieve, she would be promptly washed, buffed, and placed in Nathan’s living room until the next ride (which, as fate would have it, was approximately 8 hours after the first; with the third following about 7 hours after that).

The ruffian joins an already large family of siblings consisting of another singlespeed, a fixed gear, three unicycles, and a BC wheel. Nathan expects that she will fit right in.
