I have a sneaking suspicion that it happened because of some sort of incident with my crank and a rock. I don't remember anything in particular, but the way I destroyed the bearing race, it certainly looked like something impacted it. Luckily, phil's stuff is made to be rebuilt, so about $15 worth of bearings and about 20 minutes worth of work, and I'm back in business. Sweet deal. Definitely have to do something like it again.
