I was thinking that the internally geared hub would be the way to go as well.  Seems like a long chain with potential for a lot of slap on the bumps.  

Definitely let me know how you like it as you get some more miles on it and some bigger loads.</description>

Looks like the kona isn't compatible with the xtracycle stuff, and after looking at it, it looks a bit shorter (thus with a bit less capacity).  Still looks like a cool option, though.</description>
