I was thinking that the internally geared hub would be the way to go as well. Seems like a long chain with potential for a lot of slap on the bumps. Looks like the kona isn't compatible with the xtracycle stuff, and after looking at it, it looks a bit shorter (thus with a bit less capacity). Still looks like a cool option, though.
