Tides of change.
First an announcement. I got a roundabout email from a friend about the wednesday night crits here in flagstaff. So, if anyone is interested, TC is starting them up again. Here are the details from the email:

I went out for the first ride with the Dinotte light system on tuesday night. First impressions are that it freakin’ rocks. One of the light heads is about as bright as my 10 watt niterider, but with a much nicer, whiter light, and with two heads on the handlebars, you can space one light a few feet out and the other further so you never outrun the light. I’m gonna try to get a hold of a HID light to compare it with, and I’m also going to rig up the helmet mount for one of the heads before I do a full/formal review, but you guys will be the first to hear it when I get the review done.
I also got in the parts to build up my new wheel. Chris king SS disc hub, Mavic 819 rim, pretty much flippin’ sweet. I built up the wheel last night, and I also took a little extra time so I could take some pictures of the whole process. My plan is to do a bit of an update to the Sheldon Brown site with photos instead of graphics for the diagrams, and also from a perspective of somebody who just wants to build wheels for themselves and friends (i.e. hints and tips that I’ve learned from the wheels I’ve built to make it easier, as well as leaving out stuff like spoke length calculators and such, you can call a shop for that).
We’ll just say that I’m motivated to try and put some useful information for people up on the site. Depending on how the reviews go and the wheelbuilding article, I might try and make it a more regular thing. It would probably be more useful than reading about what I found on the internet while I was supposed to be working….....
Speaking of that. For all you commuters, I got this little tip on tripping traffic lights off fixedgear.blogspot.com I guess it’s a better option than just running the light, not that I’ve ever done that…..
