A Chill Friday Night
It’s been a good week so far. A couple days on the rollers watching it snow, and then a morning hiking up snowbowl taking advantage of that snow.
Saw the gnome up there on the trip up. It was his turn to lay down the tracks on the way up as he got the jump on it. I caught up with him at the top, we chatted for a few, and then set up a little photo op on the way down. Almost looks like I know what I’m doing.
A good winter of skiing here, that’s for sure. I’m up over 25 days so far, and they just keep coming. I’ve got a few more trips already planned for this winter, so I think that tally will easily be hitting 30-35 by the time we’re thawing out and thinking about planting the garden.
Yet somehow I’m packing up my bike shoes, helmet, camelbak, and chamois cream tonight. It’s the Sedona Big Friggin’ loop, and I’m saddling up for it.
This year is the same loop as the last two, but with a slightly different starting spot. It’s in conjunction with the Spring Fling mountain bike festival so it’s starting at the IGA in oak creek and ending at the bike n bean for beers and partying. Should be a really good time, if I can survive……..
It’s gonna be a great day out there, I just hope I have some swimming trunks for oak creek and a second set of legs for when the ones I’ll be bringing give up. This is some of the most technical 60 miles of racing around, and it’s pretty much impossible to ‘cruise’ it.
I’m looking forward to it.
And then I’m going skiing on sunday.

On a completely unrelated note. New idea for Cruiser Nation 2010: http://www.liketotally80s.com/images/whip-it.jpg

By the way, I’m sure you’ve seen it, but you need to watch the video right now. So classic.
