Win Free Stuff or Buy Cool Shirts
A couple quick items of interest that I thought the more creative of ya’ll might be interested in.
First up are a couple contests with some shweet prizes. The first is that over at mountain hard wear, they are running a create your own ad contest. All you need is a good picture or two (probably having some MHW gear in it would help) and some witty commentary. It’s super-easy to create ads, and quite frankly, all the ones up there so far suck. If you win, your ad goes in Rock & Ice and you get a $1000 shopping spree from MHW. I am so in.
The second is sponsored by Ski Utah and is a contest to create a new word for skiing and snowboarding. Again, some of the submissions are horrid. First prize is an all-expenses paid skiing trip. Better hurry, though, this one closes today.
Finally, many of you may know that I am a obsessive visitor of steep and cheap for cheap gear. As such, I also read the goat. He posted a while ago about the backcountry.com “t-shirt of the month”: I really liked last month’s t-shirt entitled the avalauncher, except for the fact that it was white.
Who can take care of white t-shirts, really? c’mon, make it grey at least. I will destroy a white t-shirt faster than a cheetah rips into a wounded gazelle. I definitely dig the stencil look, and the avalauncher graphic is super cool. I just gotta get them to send me the screen after they’re done printing it. . .
At least this month’s shirt is black, but I’m not too keen on the logo.
Maybe iz for u, no?

However, in light of all the expensive, white, and not-so cool t-shirts, there is always the ever-fashionable handlebarsandwich t-shirts. Not only are they very much ‘not white’, but they’re also cheaper ($15 apiece) and going towards a good cause (I’m already up to about $30 in donations to flagstaffbiking).

Go forth, handlebarsandwich readers and win some cool shit.

Put me down for one shirt next time I see you… 2 days of rest down, might hit the bike and pool again today. If I was not the “coordinator” of the AZSF, you bet I would be at the race over in NM, that said, I hope to see you at least one day during the AZSF.

I totally understand about the SYDC. I wish I could do both!
I’ll definitely save you a shirt, you need a large or a medium?

Probably a medium, maybe even a small. I’ll pick it up next time we ride together.
