Multimedia from the Weekend
Off in the distance.
On to roller wars now. First, a couple numbers.
Distance: 300 meters
My best time: 15.11 seconds
Average Speed: 44.4 mph
Average Cadence (bikes were a 48×16 gearing): 189 rpm
Best time of the night: 14.69 seconds
Average Speed: 45.7 mph
Average Cadence: 194 rpm
It’s good to start with some pictures. I lifted this one from Reichel’s gallery of the evening. Click through for a bunch of great shots from the evening of debauchery and pain.
And finally, I promised a video. Here’s what I put together. If you’ve ever wondered what 3 pedal revolutions a second looks like, here you go.
And before anyone asks, no, none of these are sped up, they’re all real-time.
Awesome.

Dude, you’re a fuckin’ beast! It’s time to quit the ‘roids, man…or whatever crazy $hit it is they put in the Flagstaff water supply. 100% pure bull testosterone, right?

I have 2 complaints:
1. Why did I not get to see you drink and Wild Turkey?
2. Why was there no ACDC?

That was an incredible video, we should have tried to capture the vibe in that room a little better though. Awesome song choice, its perfect.

1 – I was trying to forget about the wild turkey, although the one run that I lost was the only run I didn’t take a shot right before, so maybe I should have. . . .
2 – Mostly because AC/DC didn’t seem as appropriate as ‘disturbed’
I actually just watched the video again, and it was a little out of sync. I had it so that the hardcore music started right when ben started spinning, I think vimeo f-ed it up when I uploaded it, may have to try it again. Either way, still pretty awesome.
I may have to pick up a little cheapo video camera. Could be lots of fun.
