Looks like some sleet fell for a bit before the actual rain started, and it made for a really rotted out layer underneath a rain crust. Depending on wind loading it was anywhere from 4-10 inches down in the pack. Even though it was kinda rotten, we didn't get a shear until 25, and it didn't propagate at all through the pack.
